Dr. Joffe attended the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Meeting in the end of October in New York. She chaired a Clinical Case Presentation on "Cognitive Rigidity", and there were presenters from various backgrounds, such as Child Psychiatry (Dr. Michael Murray and Dr. Peter Jensen), Developmental Pediatrician (Dr. James Coplan), and Child Neurologist (Dr. Andrew Zimmerman). Our discussion was about the presence of "Cognitive Rigidity" in various neurodevelopmental conditions and child psychiatric conditions. This topic is usually a matter of discussion and of work with parents of children with difficult temperament from an early age, and with developmental difficulties, including sensory-integration challenges. Children with Asperger Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Bipolar and other Mood Disorders were mentioned, and treatments were discussed as well.

Dr. Joffe also participated in the "Meet the Author" activity when she shared her three books with professionals from all over the world. Dr. Joffe met psychiatrists, physicians, and other mental health professionals from all over the world who were interested in learning more about the work of Selective Mutism and the literature for children on Asperger Syndrome.
