Dr. Vera Joffe Visits with Senator Bill Nelson and CHADD Founder Dr. Harvey - Saturday, November 10, 2007

The photos below are from Dr. Vera Joffe's recent trip to Washington to seek support for ADHD and mental health treatment.

Senator Bill Nelson (FL) with Florida members of CHADD in November: Dr. Vera Joffe and associates met with Senator Nelson's staff to provide information about ADHD, that it is a disability, and that we need more funds allocated for children with disabilities at the schools.

We also emphasized Senator Nelson's great support for being supportive and for voting for Mental Health Parity Bill: Equal Coverage for health and mental health/substance abuse treatment which will help many children and adults receive mental health treatments they need. Cosponsoring and voting for H.R. 1424 NS and S. 558 would help end insurance discrimination against mental health and substance abuse coverage.

Dr. Harvey Parker (founder of CHADD), his wife Roberta Parker, Dr. Vera Joffe, Annette (coordinator of CHADD of North Broward County, Florida), and other professionals and families involved with ADHD and CHADD.
